Unprofessional customer service
On Monday 25/06/2018 I called Discovery Insure to cancel my policy on 30/06/2018. The consultant who was assisting me, confirmed if I wanted to cancel on 25/06/2018 or 30/06/2018 and I choose 30/06/2018; the consultant was supposed to send me confirmation of my cancellation, whether by email or text message, I didn't receive any confirmation.
So today 28/06/2018, I decided to call again, to request that confirmation, because I didn't want to be charged month end. Only to find out they cancelled my policy Monday 25/06/2018 already, so I've been sitting without insurance. Had I knew, I would've called the new insurance and ask them to activate me.
So after learning that my policy has been deactivated; the consultant by the name of Tshepo, gives me an attitude, as if I'm in the wrong here. Then he sends the email with the confirmation, but now on the email, it says that I must return the DQ device after my policy has ended, or I will be charged.
Basically Discovery Insure wanted to make things difficult for me, because if I didn't call, I wouldn't have known about the device that needs to be returned and next thing, I'll be getting charged over nonsense.
Dear Brian,
Thank you for taking my call.
Once again I would like ot apologise for the inconvenience that you have experienced dealing with us recently.
I will take this matter up with the servicing agents and their line managers respectively.
