Unpleasant Experience

I am disgusted at the service I received. If this matter is cannot be resolved, then it leaves me with no option but to take this further. Please also advise regarding a rental until your assigned panel beater resolves the issue that was not caused by me and was caused while the panel beater had my car.

I am NOT willing to accept or take ownership of car in the state and condition that it is currently in.

I took my car in working condition to Autohaus. There was no engine work required on my car so I find it extremely strange that my engine parts packed-up while at Autohaus.

I expect my car in the same condition that I brought it in, barring the work that had to be completed on the car.

I went on Friday to pick my car up from the panel beater in good faith after they called me to pick my car up. I find it extremely disheartening that Autohaus wanted me to take my car from their workshop knowing full well that my car was not drivable after they had worked on it. This was done with absolutely no concern for my safety and the behaviour was despicable. I could have gotten into a serious accident and Autohaus should have foreseen this knowing that all electronics stopped working including power steering. Once the car was retrieved and parked at Autohaus, I was left outside Autohaus stranded while they locked up and had to find my own way back home. I asked if I could take the courtesy home and was told that I could not do so because they needed the courtesy car and that is the reason they phoned me in order for me to return it.

Is this the kind of service that Discovery Insure condones from your panel beater?

It was mentioned by Autohaus on Friday that another thread broke off the same wheel when they took my car from 20 July 2016. The thread broke off when they wanted to remove the wheel in order to repair the thread that was not previously repaired. Autohaus also mentioned that the person that tied the nut, “cross-threaded” the nut and that is why it broke causing Autohaus to replace 2 threads on the same wheel. I would like to remind Autohaus that, in actual fact, Autohaus took the mag off the week before in order to repair the mag. When I inspected my car at Autohaus the previous week, Autohaus was waiting for the mag and had the spare wheel on the car. The very same mag that Autohaus questioned regarding the “cross-threading” was put on by Autohaus. So that means that one of Autohaus’ workers is responsible for the “cross-threading”. Since that is the case, it brings me to question the quality of work at Autohaus.

My car was in full working condition when I brought it to Autohaus on 13 June 2016. I expect it in the same condition when I receive it barring the work that needed to be done as per the insurance claim. Every time I dropped my car off at Autohaus, I picked it up in worse condition than when I dropped it off, to the point that the car was no longer drivable.

Autohaus is the assigned panel beater by Discovery.
