Think twice before insuring with Discovery

On the 28th of Sep I logged a claim as we found our deep freezer had stopped working and we assumed it is from load shedding. Assessors were sent and he opened the vent on the side of the freezer with a *****driver, looked inside and said it's the gas that is finished. The claim administrator from Discovery phoned me to tell me the claim has been rejected as the assessor said the gas is finished and there is a leak on the pipes. I said to her how is it possible that he can tell all of that without using any equipment, but simply looking into the freezer. She was going to escalate the matter and get back to me, but today when my broker checked, the claim had been closed on Discovery's side. Definitely time to get some new insurance quotes.
