The Worst Customer Service Ever
There are 2 aspects to this complaint: 1. An amount of R2 029.70 was deduced from my credit card for toll fees by AVIS. A total of 198km was used by myself on the rental car and no toll routes were used. According to the AVIS invoice, I travelled to Pretoria multiple times and back. Based on the fact that I have only driven for 198km, the one trip travelled to Hammanskraal from OR Tambo is 160km (return trip would have been 320km). I recon should have been done to verify the kilometres travelled in comparison to the actual kilometres travelled on the car speedometer. I want my money paid a.s.a.p. 2. According to my policy, I have a 30 day car rental allocation to me of which I was not told of. The rental car was collected from AVIS on 14 March 2021 at 16:18. I called AVIS to ask when the car should be returned, I was told that the car should be returned on 28 March 2021 (14 days). Additionally, the panel beater had advised me that my car will only be ready on 06 April 2021. Based on the date my car will be ready, I requested for an extension on the car and was "granted" an extension until 31 March 2021 by Discovery and 30 March 2021 by AVIS. Based on the extension of the car rental "granted", I have sent an email to Nompumelelo (my "allocated claims consultant) requesting for her to cancel the extension request as it did not benefit me to have the car for an additional 2 days. Nompumelelo did not tell me that my policy states that I am entitled to have the rental car for 30 days. I have called Discovery 6 times and have spoken to six different people without getting any assistance. I asked to be transferred to the team leader of which I was placed on hold for 30 minutes (several times) with no answer. Eventually, Nompumelelo called me to tell me that her manager told her to call me instead of her manager calling me directly. This is so unprofessional!!!!!
