Terrible Claims Experience!!!!
I lodged a claim on 9 February for my vehicle which was damaged by a potholes. Discovery Insure booked my vehicle for assessment after having it towed to Auction Nation. I received an sms to state that my assessment was cancelled. I had to call in to find out why this was the case, as there was ZERO communication from my appointed claims consultant. Only to find out Discovery Insure didn’t know the whereabouts of my vehicle and I had to make contact with the towing company to find out what had happened. On 18 February I received another SMS stating that my claim was reallocated to a different claims consultant, which also didn’t respond to any of my emails. On 19 February I had received an email stating that my vehicle was deemed economical unrepairable and I had to send my natis document with change of ownership form. I had asked numerous occasions when the claim will be paid as Discovery Insure make promises that claims will be settled promptly. On 21 February after receiving ZERO feedback once again I called the call centre, and was informed that Discovery Insure will send me a AOL. I received an SMS stating that my claim was authorised and it followed with an email from my claims consultant with the AOL. The amount on the AOL was incorrect and I requested that the amount be corrected.
Shockingly I received a call from Discovery insure stating that I must ignore the AOL as a mechanical assessor needs to be appointed, and it will take another 48 WORKING hours, which is 5 days, before I’ll have any feedback!!
Discovery Insure I’ll be taking this matter to the ombudsman, as a claim can’t be authorised and a AOL sent, only for you to go back on it!!
I want this matter resolved TODAY!!!
I received a call on 21 February and was advised that the matter will be looked into, and feedback will be provided, and the way forward. This has not happened, needless to say, my claim hasn't been paid out. This has been going on for more than 3 weeks now.
