Stay away from Discovery Insure
After my last post about their excessive premium increases I have now had to be subject to an ‘inventory’ by Allsure as requested by Discovery. Not since the good ol apartheid days being unnecessarily searched by police have I felt such indignity as these guys are meant to apparently open every cupboard, measure everything and photograph everything. I am awaiting the outcome of a claim but after this sort of treatment you can go to h3ll Discovery

10 Aug 2022, 17:01Basically you’re looking for an excuse to increase my premiums even more? My CD’s and books and items that were received as gifts have no financial value yet the way these items were scrutinised and listed means value is being given to everything and anything so that you guys are able to pay less of my claim (a 10 year old bike which I have no idea how or what is being claimed for thanks to the lack of communication from team which barely seem to exist). I have now received a second quote with premiums 2/3 of what yours are. A 20% increase has been unreasonable but the lack of any proper and direct communication has been unacceptable. I will keep making the public aware of how bad the service, communication and pricing is as a Discovery client since I need to undo all and any good reviews about this company in the past. You’ve been a waste of time and patience on all fronts.
