Spouses don't exist

I would imagine all households have one insurance policy which means one of the spouses has to be the signatory as it would be nonsensical to each take out half the value in their own names. But this is where I am getting to and you can imagine the chaos when trying to establish which half belonged to who when claiming. I have been given delegation by my husband. We have repeatedly sent it to Discovery. I pay the premiums. We have called repeatedly to ask them to deal with me. We have sent numerous emails. We cannot get one response to actually acknowledge that I live and breathe. It is driving me insane as I have the claim and my husband is slow, often unavailable and it takes weeks and weeks to get anywhere. I am the financial decision maker in the household so am ensuring as soon as our claims are finalized we will be cancelling this policy and moving to a company who understand a household may comprise 2 parties who can both communicate.
