Short change the customer by understating value
My daughters were involved in an accident on the morning of the 24th Nov at /- 5.:40am 10kms outside King Williams Town. The vehicle is fitted with a DQ tracker which should have activated but didn't. A manual call was made to Discovery to report the accident. A Sifiso Khumalo handled the call, no ambulance was supp****, the incorrect vehicle (my Fortuner) was recorded as the vehicle in the accident. A rental vehicle was arranged to be delivered to the hospital in KWT.

The vehicle was assessed and DI to write the vehicle off. A verbal settlement figure was given to me which I immediately disagreed with. When I insured the vehicle I provided DI with a copy of the invoice showing the purchase price and extras added to the vehicle. I stated very cleanly that I will not accept a settlement which foes not include the extras per the invoice. Sifiso struggled to get anyone at DI to accept responsibility for this error (his words). A further incorrect settlement letter was sent to me on the 21st December and I am fully within my right to decline this amount. The settlement should be for + /- R111000 without any excess as I have a substantial excess funder balance. This is a disgrace.
