Shockingly Poor Service by Discovery Insure
I moved over to Discovery Insure about 8 months ago and have since been on the receiving end of a severe hail storm and then theft of my motor car which was recovered almost immediately and released from the pound a day later. It has now been almost 4 weeks of confusion due to what seems like inadequate internal processes at discovery Insure. Firstly, my motorcar theft claim was assigned to a building claims handler, on three occasions I was promised that my claim would be assigned to the correct claims handler, causing further delays. The vehicles assessment with Net Assess was cancelled three times. Every time I have had to follow up with Discovery Insure, only o find out they had mixed up the hail damage claim with my car theft repairs claim. Both claims have different numbers and the hail damage claim had been completed bar one outstanding item. My vehicle took almost three weeks to be assessed. From the set go I had communicated to Discovery, which they agreed to, that I'd like the same auto repair shop that repaired my vehicles hail damage to conduct the repairs on my vehicle again. I then received a call from this auto body repairer to say the claim had been approved and when would I be bringing the car in. I explained to them that it was not drivable and was sitting with the assessors, which then led to us discover that Discovery Insure had sent through the incorrect claim, which was for hail damage repairs. Using my car tracking device, I checked where my vehicle was, to find out it was sitting at another autobody repair shop. Three more phone calls to discovery with promises to get back to be and now 4 weeks later and the repairs have still not begun on my car. Did I also mention that my claims handlers telephone number in her email signature took me through to the Old Mutual Insure call centre. Perhaps Discovery should stick to medical aid administration and give up on insurance. What a poor customer experience and what a long process to speak to a call centre agent every time I called for an update. Ironically, I was once with Mutual and Federal. The service I received between these two companies is like chalk and cheese.
