Shocking service

On my birthday, 20 April, my son's car was ****** and duly reported on 21 April 2017. I was assisted by Boitumelo Pitse, who registered the claim. Later a Tshepiso Mazibuko got involved on 9 May 2017 (Already more than 2 weeks). The car was deregistered and I was requested by Boitumelo to complete the Change of Ownership form, which I had to sign. Here was my further uncomfort, as Tshepiso Mazibuko, the claims administrator, forwarded me the CoO document and the person I had to sign over my son's ****** car was an individual, Manamela Mmakgamel O Granny ! I also have the personal e-mail address.

When I enquired if this is the policy of Discovery to transfer the vehicle to individuals, I was forwarded another form that was blank. Now Tshepiso dissapeared, and Boitumelo appeared in the picture...

He gave me the settlement amount of R19 900 on 19 May 2017...One month has gone by. I queried how is it possible that a vehcle, that is 20 years old, can depreciate with R 2000, or 10 % in one month, and I did not accept the value. Boitumelo was requested to provide me with the answer.

Boitumelo responded on 19 May that the value is correct and that I could contact my broker ! But I do not have a broker ! I insured directly with Discovery! Is this *****, I asked myself ? and mentioned this to Discovery...

After the interaction with Boitumelo on the 19th May, silence was my only response. I forwarded follow up e-mails, but the only answer was silence. I followed up with a phone call, and wow, someone picked up and after explaining my frustration, I was provided an e-mail address of the manager, ********** and forwared him an e-mail on 30 June 2017...No response !!!

This past week, I phoned Discover call centre again, demanded the manager of the supervisor, who was not available, but was provided the promise that the manager will phone me back...up to today, 28 July, no phone call. The complaint was forwarded to the manager, and guess who is the manager of the manager ? No one else than ********** !!

I desperation I write this e-mail with the hope that Discovery will pick it up and a manager phone me or respond to my e-mails.

Oh, AND I was asked to provide a rating for service provided, rated it 1/10...without any response.

Now considering cancelling all my products with Discovery, Credit card, Medical insurance and car and house insurance

Thank you to Sakhe Tyatyeka that responded, however, the answer provided is in contrast with the call centre agent explanation. If you listen to the call centre recoding, the call centre agent confirmed that the value of the vehicle, according to the Transunion dealers guide was the SAME in February, the date when the vehicle was insured, and in April, the date the car was ******. Why would Sakhe now say the value has decreased ? I again say it is strange that the value of a vehicle that is 21 years old, would reduce with 10% over a 2 month period, and I lost 10% in the process.
The various other complaints I had was ignored, such as the poor service, not responding to calls and e-mails for more than a month, the time it took to address the issue, why I was referred to a Broker when I did not work through a broker and why I was requested to transfer the vehicle to an individuel whos name was disclosed ?
