Ridiculous points earning system
I have been with Discovery Insure for many years and have been a very safe driver. The points system worked very well and made earning rewards for driving worth it. Discovery has recently moved to Vitality Drive 3.0 and made it impossible to for even a safe driver to reach a decent target. It is almost impossible to earn points and maintain the drive status I have been on for years. Discovery has simply made it harder for people to achieve points so that Discovery can give out fewer rewards. I recently moved my 2 faster vehicles plus household insurance to Outsurance and have left my small 1.2 auto runabout on Discovery. Yet I still get regularly penalised especially for acceleration. Yesterday was actually ridiculous, I got penalised 8 points for acceleration on a 120 km/h freeway, trying to get my speed up towards 120! Scientific they say? Self serving rules I say. I'll keep the car on Discovery a few more months to try pay off my iPhone a bit more, and live with the having to stutter my car on pull aways. But then its cheers for good for me...
We do note that you have been in contact with our servicing team regarding the above.
As per the Vitality Drive rules, harsh or moderate acceleration, braking, cornering, speeding and cell phone use are events that will reduce your daily drive points.
