********* request

Requesting my bank account number over the phone to verify it is me phoning is *********. With all the ***** in this country I do not feel comfortable giving my bank details to a stranger at a call center.

Good Day Danie,

That is concerning to hear, and we would like to apologize for the service and experience.

Please assist with providing clarity on which call centre department requested your banking details for verification and the call details so that we may have this matter investigated.

 Regards
 Discovery Insure

What worries me is that apparently my banking details are available to see for all the workers at the call center otherwise they would not be able to verify my account number. Very concerning.

Still no feedback from Discovery and in the mean time the sensor in my bakkie is still faulty. I cannot report it because I refuse to give my banking details to a call center operator. The real problem here is if I'm asked to give my banking details to verify if it is me calling, the call center operators have access to my confidential information on the system. No wonder our country has received a grey accreditation.
