Refund not paid due to someone incompetence
I cancelled a policy 2 weeks ago and I sent my proof of account as requested for a refund. The proof of account was in PDF format because I downloaded it from capitec bank, it can't be in a different format, but discovery insure keep responding that the file is not in PDF, so I don't know what they want. Seems like someone at discovery finance does not know how to open a pdf file or what? I have sent it the second time and I am getting the same issue, I know I sent a pdf file, but I am face with this issue and I am not getting my refund.

We've confirmed with our Finance team that, while you may have downloaded the Proof of Account in PDF format from your bank, what you sent us, on 4 December and again twice today, is a screenshot or photo of that PDF document which is in TIF format. We need the actual PDF document that you downloaded from your bank, not pictures of it.
There are certain security measures built in to the PDF document which confirm its authenticity and this is what we need to verify the bank details. Please send us the actual PDF document from your bank for us to process your refund.

22 Dec 2025, 09:49Good day, this is ridiculous, the document I sent you was a PDF file. When I check in my sent folder, I can see a .pdf file, PLEASE CAN YOU CHECK YOUR SYSTEM, WHY IS A PDF FILE CHANGING TO TIF. PLEASE I AM NOT CRAZY.

22 Dec 2025, 10:04Good day, we're not sure how that would change after being sent unless there are some quarantine protocols being implemented between systems. Kindly send it to us at the Social Media team directly so we can check if the issues persist. Please email it to *** and we'll advise what format it arrives in.
