Poor Service - does not seem to care about loyal clients
We are in the process of selling our Fiat Punto 2012 (that we currently have insured with Discovery Insure with a monthly premium of R870) and buying a 2016 Audi A4. We requested quotes for the Audi through our broker. She managed to get a Discovery Essential quote of R1350 with nil excess. We asked her to re-quote with a R1000 excess and confirming that the car is parked in underground parking (gated) during the day and night. She came back with a quote of R1325. Feeling that this is ridiculous (being that we have been claim-free, only drive 4km to work everyday and usually spend less than R800 a month on fuel), my husband sent an email asking if they can't look at lowering the quoted premium (which would mean more to us than earning fuel cashbacks by completing tests and driving), as we would like to stay with Discovery and not accept the R1130 quote we received from Outsurance (which they are also willing to drop to R970 if we accept). This email went unanswered. After a few days, the email was forwarded and we asked that we would like some feedback, still no reply. My husband then proceeded to phone Discovery directly and ask them. The woman on the other side offered R1600! Very non-chalantly. He told her that if that is the case we will be forced to cancel with Discovery and accept an Outsurance quote of much less. Her answer: "Ok. Anything else I can assist with?"
