Poor communication and claim management

Discovery has been really poor in handling my theft claim. My home was broken into on the 18th of June it is now just over 2 months and progress on my claim has come to a standstill. This holdup is supposedly because I did not provide sufficient evidence for owning shoes and wedding ring which was ******. I'm not sure who keeps receipts of shoes or clothes purchased but I did provide video footage from my bedroom cctv cameras of the ******* filling a super king size blanket with shoes, this should be evidence enough but not according to Discovery they need photos where do they expect I get that???? as for the wedding ring I get different stories as to why it has not been approved first it is not approved because my proof of purchase says it is an engagement ring but in my SAPS report it says wedding ring, my wife and I refer to this ring as a wedding ring because we used this as a wedding ring and we don't have an engagement in my culture. The second reason they say they cannot approve this is because I purchased this ring in 2017 and only insured it with Discovery in 2021, I don't understand the reasoning on this as it doesn't matter when I purchased this ring the fact is it was insured with Discovery if there is a problem with insuring something purchased in the past then tell your client that you cannot insure their item. My second point on this matter is that I did insure this with Miway insurance when purchased and a Discovery broker carried my policy over to Discovery in 2021 so there should be no problem.

As for the agent/manager handling this claim has been really poor in communication I get little to no feedback as to what is going on with my claim. We also had an issue for 2 weeks where they asked for supporting documents to be sent but they claim they did not receive even after sending numerous times but with my broker confirming he received it but miraculously the agents did not receive it.

This is becoming really frustrating as this should have been a much speedier process as the rest of the claim items was authorized on the 12th of July but because of 2 items the whole claim gets delayed by more than a month.

Reviewer Update
What can I say it gets even worse, after I place hellopeter review I get a response from Agent with new agreement of loss. the new agreement of loss value has dropped significantly from the one which was sent a month ago, it seems the team at Discovery does not know what they are doing. On top of that they say they still need proof of ownership of shoes and ring is still being validated. I sent a picture of some shoes I owned plus a video of shoes being ****** but that is not proof enough. as for the ring I sent all documents relating to ring but 1 month on it is still being validated. This is probably the worst insurance company in SA right now stay away.
