Pirate Parts, Used Parts & Bad Managers
Sadly since my post where I commended Discovery on great 24 hour roadside assist, they seem to have made it their mission to prove me wrong about their business as a whole. This negative review is due to the constant changing of consultants dealing with the claim (5 at my last count). No accountability from managers who lurk in the shadows who leave the consultants out to hang by giving terrible directives. First I find out from the panel beaters that they will be using pirate and used parts for the repair as my Insurer could not care less to inform me. Then after the prolonged investigations and delays due to the hunting of pirate pats, I have to make my own plan as to how I get around while my Insurer takes their merry time processing things related to the repair. Then when the pirate parts do not fit, the panel beater is instructed to go scavenge for used parts and ONLY then will my insurer think about maybe authorizing the the use of new parts. Thanks for Nothing Discovery Insure! As 2 months later, I still do not know when I will have my car again (which by the way, I still have to pay an Installment and Insurance for)
If your refer to my review, the concern lies in the following factors;
1. The long delay in investigating the case, which has lead to a bill of +R4000.00 to me in additional rental charges (that is of Friday, 5 July 2019)
2. The delay caused in trying to source these pirate parts and second hand parts
3. The lack of communication from one of the many consultants, resulting in me having to call ti find out about the delays (this is a huge contracts from when I dealt with Matilda who updated me on a daily basis for the week or two of the claims process).
I am sincerely disappointed at the process and after previously dealing with Outsurance, MiWay and King Price, I have to say that this is the worst claims process I have ever been involved in.
