Pathetic, disrespectful, dishonest service

6 weeks today I lodged an insurance claim with Discovery. The matter was first handed over to Olifile Majake, and after not hearing from him for over 2 weeks, I tried emailing him and phoning him. He neither responded to emails, and his phone just kept on ringing and ringing. For days. After then complaining on the discovery website, and not hearing from anyone, I received a curt email from OIifile, saying nothing more than he is dealing with my claim. No apologies, no timelines, no plan on what is to follow, nothing. Just more useless, disrepectful service. After not hearing from Olifile for weeks again, and trying unsuccessfully to get hold of him, again, I eventually did the long hold on the telephone to speak to a manager, and got through to Amanda. Whilst she made no apologies for the service I had received, she did say that the matter would be handled by another claim's agent, and that the claim would be finalised within 48 hours. That was a week ago.

Today I received an email from Olifile (the employee the claims manager took OFF the case) stating that he tried to call me to no avail, and that the claim was now being moved to an assessor. Firstly, I am again dealing with the same *********** agent who was specifically removed from this case. Secondly, I had zero missed calls on my phone, which I can only assume means that Olifile is now lying. For what? Because he doesn't want to make a phone call?! Thirdly, after saying a week ago the claim would be settled within 48 hours, it is now being referred to someone else. This has taken 6 weeks, 2 claim numbers, numerous phone calls, even more unanswered phone calls and emails from both Olifile and the Discovery service desk, and I am still nowhere on this claim. On the phone call to Amanda today, she blamed ME for the delay, saying that the information I provided came through in dribs and drabs. I am now being blamed for this!!!!!!! Even though, for some strange reason, a new claim number was given to me. Amanda, if your claims agent actually responded to emails, or answered his phone, I could have had the required information to you a lot sooner. If I don't know what is required, and am trying to find out to no avail, how do i get this information to you????!?!??!?!?!?!?! Just more pathetic service from Discovery.....the new Telkom. Only here I actually have a choice to take my business elsewhere, and I certainly shall.

Preveshen. This claim has now been open, and with Discovery for over 6 weeks. Should I be expecting to wait the same amount of time for you to get back to me? Is this the norm for Discovery?

Preveshen I believe my claim was finally settled. 2 months and 1 day after the incident. Over 2 weeks ago, you promised to get back to me regarding this. I had to resort to Hello Peter, as it was impossible to get hold of anyone at Discovery to help me. The person dealing with my claim never responded to a single email, never answered his phone, and then persistently **** about trying to get hold of me (of which I have asked for evidence, and of course received none), and botched up the claim from the very beginning. From your lack of response, it is clear that the ethos of not giving a sh*t about your customers is endemic to every department of Discovery (the new Telkom), and it would be a shame to myself to give you another penny of my money. It is with this in mind, and your (as well as your colleagues) total lack of respect, disregard, and dishonesty, that I will be immediately cancelling my auto and home insurance with Discovery (the new Telkom). I have never been subjected to worse service anywhere in this country. Good bye Discovery (the new Telkom).
