Parts Replaced on vehicle less than standard per MIOSA.

Inspection of damage on my vehicle: 01/11/2023, vehicle received from LMG ARC-Montana after “completion of repairs” on 22/12/2023.

For one the repair centre took ages to complete such “delicate work” which ended up being substandard.

Discovery Insure only approved aftermarket/second hand parts to be replaced on my out of warranty vehicle, which I understand, but driving with the vehicle with low standard parts is not according to MIOSA-“the obligation of the insurer is to place you in the position you were before the road crash” and this is what Discovery Insure picked out of a garbage bag: -Outside Temperature probe reads between 43-48 degrees celsius in Pretoria. -The replaced fog light does not fit inside it’s bracket/front bumper area, it looks like there is part of the fog light that was not yet assembled before fitment. -Vehicle horn sounds like it came out of a broken polo.

I had made Moipone and Nelisiwe aware of this on 03/02/2023 as I know I wouldn’t get anywhere during 23/12/2023 & 31/12/2023.

The only feedback received was that the Ombudsman approves aftermarket/second hand parts, which I am fine with, but the type of horn, sensor and fog light fitted is not in accordance with the Ombudsman, “to be in the same state as before the vehicle accident”, where is compliance? But I have to comply with paying the monthly fee increased yearly?

If Discovery Insure does not resolve this by replacing the correct parts, I as your loyal customer will be forced to take further action against your misconduct.

So much for the quick reply there, most likely automated…

Seeing as no one is interested in their customers at Discovery Insure, note that I will be going to the Ombudsman to help you out.
