Over priced insurance
I have been a Discovery insurance member for several years and suddenly last year, my insurance on my car and wife's car has sky rocketed. I drive a Fortuner and my wife a Hyundai i20. My insurance went from R500 odd to R810 which is what I am paying now. When I queried it in Feb I was told I can't query it till March which is when their system \changed". That was my first fight with them. What a load of *******. Then"

In September last year we took a business decision to increase the premium we charged to insure certain vehicles.
One of these vehicles was the Toyota Fortuner.
The reason we took this decision was because we had seen a 25% increase in the theft of these vehicles and based on the data we gathered a Toyota Fortuner was approximately three times more likely to get ****** or hi-jacked when compared to a \standard\" vehicle and as such the premium we were charging was insufficient for the risk
