Not the regular driver

I've had an uphill battle with discovery insure. My previous employer put me down as a regular driver on the company car. I decided not to drive the company vehicle (due to politics within management) but rather make use of my personal vehicle. I have requested for about 2 years to be removed as the regular driver. I am no longer with the company and purchased a personal vehicle. Started shopping around for insurance quotes and discovery could not give me a quote as I was still listed as a regular driver on the previous employer's policy. I haven't worked with the company for a year now but still can't get any joy with insuring my vehicle with discovery.
