Nonchalant attitude and ********* conduct from Discovery Insure

I am very disheartened by the treatment I have been getting from Discovery Insure. My vehicle broke down in Kroonstad on my way to Pretoria from Bloemfontein on 15th Oct 2024. To date, I do not have my car, let alone the approval for repairs from the insurance. They have towed my car to a workshop in Kroonstad and kept it there for close to three weeks now with no progress reported and no approval for work to commence on my vehicle. Instead, they keep saying the car needs to go for a diagnostic assessment but they are not sending through an instruction for it to be towed to a nearby VW dealership. They are even insisting that it has an engine fault, which happens to be a lie according to the mechanics at the dealership. We are even suspecting their intention is to write off my car to avoid fixing it. This car was hit by a rock at the bottom at night and I couldn’t park at the scene at night. I drove it to the nearest filling station and that’s when it started limping, it couldn’t pick up speed as a defence mechanism. So no damage could have happened to the engine according to two assessors at the workshop. They even told me it is drivable, we just need to replace the engine cover and the front brake pads. So I ended up paying for everything myself with no assistance from the so called insurance.
