Non-existant claims process. Don't waste your money!!!

My experience with Discovery Insurance has been so terrible that I felt compelled to open a Hello Peter account to ensure my voice is heard.

From the outset, this journey has been unbearable. There has been zero communication, and absolutely no one seems to know what is going on.

Since my car was towed on June 4th, it has been a nightmare. I was informed that someone named Angel would call me, but at this point, I wonder if this person even exists.

Initially, my car was sent to Auction Nation Sandton. Then, I received a call from Net Assess stating the car was at Renew It Sandton. By Thursday, I drove to Renew It Sandton to collect items from my car, only to be told it had been moved to Renew It Centurion. Still, I received no call from Angel.

On Friday, I got a call from Net Assess requesting my car details for an assessment, which I had been previously informed was already completed. The assessment was now scheduled for the following Monday.

When I called Discovery to inquire about the situation, no one could explain why the initial assessment was cancelled or where my car was. I requested a call once the assessment was done to establish the next steps. Despite this, there was still no proactive communication from Discovery.

From Friday to the next Wednesday, I received no calls. When I called again to find out what was happening, I was told my car had been moved to Renew It Rivonia and was being lifted. Once more, I was asked for my car details.

Yesterday at 3 PM, I missed a call. When I called back today, I was informed that two weeks after my accident, Discovery still needed details of the accident so the car could be booked for assessment or reassessment. No one could explain why.

I made a final request today for Angel to call me and explain what was going on. However, I still did not receive a call.

I am now in the third week of this ordeal. Discovery has wasted my 30-day car rental, and there has been no progress on my claim.

What am I paying for?
