No sense of urgency in a dangerous situation
The recent strong storms, wind and hail has caused our ceiling beams to dislodge and is pushing against our ceiling. We lodged the claim on Monday and no body bothered to contact us to arrange an assessment. When we called on Tuesday afternoon, we were told that the previous company cancelled and they had no one else available because they have too many claims to deal with. We stressed that our ceiling was collapsing and this is a major risk and they finally found someone to come out after another 2 calls that we had to make. I asked for manager to call me so I could express my concerns and update me on progress and was promised that this was to happen the following day. To date, no manager has bothered to call me. The assessor spent 5 minutes and didn't even look at going to the ceiling and then we told by Discovery that they won't cover the claim. We have tried 3 times to get hold of the person dealing with our claims and we keep being told he will call us back. This appears to be Discovery trying to avoid a claim and then not willing to back this up with proof. They are avoiding us so as not to pay the claim. Will be cancelling my policies as soon as I am done with my appeal
