No response to query plus unauthorized debit order for over R1,000!'n
<p>A week ago I inquired with Discovery Insure why my driving profile was no longer visible to me. Instead of getting a response, today (Dec 22) I discovered that my bank account was debited (outside of my normal debit order date, which is 1st of the month) for almost R1,200! Not only is this debit order unauthorized, but also nothing was communicated to me beforehand about it And therefore I also have to fork out overdraft charges???</p> <p> </p> <p>This extra payment also comes on the same date as Discovery Insure's annual "we are increasing your premium 10% next year, happy holidays" email. </p> <p> </p> <p>I guess this is Discovery Insure's way of thanking its loyal customers?</p>

We have feedback from our finance division confirming that the billing was an error from our side.
We have made some attempt to contact you but had to leave a voice mail as there was no answer. With regards to the feedback, we note that your next debit order will coincide with the date that we would be able to process the refund. Therefore the next debit will be less the amount we billed incorrectly if that debit was successfully debited from your account.
We once again apologise for the inconvenience experienced.

As discussed, the next debit order will be of R3315.06 less R1,184.81 that was debited on 22/12/2016, therefore only debiting R2130.25 on the next working day after the 31st of December 20116 or by the 30th of December 2016.
the feedback and advise provided has been put to the attention of systems and finance to investigate in order to avoid similar recurrences in the future.

As discussed, the next debit order will be of R3315.06 less R1,184.81 that was debited on 22/12/2016, therefore only debiting R2130.25 on the next working day after the 31st of December 20116 or by the 30th of December 2016.
