Needless delays 1 month after loss
My house was burgled on Easter weekend more than a month ago. After being patient with Discovery insure since, always replying and providing what they need as requested with no more than a day delay from my side, I have now lost my cool.
I am still waiting on a final settlement in cash which I was told would be transferred within 72 hours after submitting a signed and dated Agreement of Loss document. Which I submitted on Thursday 4 May, it is now Wednesday 10 May.
I phoned discovery today and was informed that the consultant is checking their mail for my document, frustratingly more than 72 hours after I submitted it.
This delay experienced is unacceptable given that it has been a full month after the loss occurred, I am without a computer which I crucially need for work.
Thank you for your response (in private). I do however feel that an update about it being in your finance team's hands is not enough. I am also awaiting the communication you stated would be received in 'due course'.
I enquired about timings of this payment and was under the impression that upon submitting the AOL document the payment should reflect in my account within 72 hours (workdays). Tomorrow it would be going on 144 hours (workdays) since I submitted the form.
I ordered a replacement computer early this week in anticipation of receiving said funds, this order will now automatically cancel by tomorrow due to no POP received.
