My Post Claim NIGHTMARE
My car got into an accident on the 26/27th of June 2020. The initial claim was very smooth, Aubrey(The claim officer) was really nice and everything went well.
Didn't take too long to get my car back. Panel beaters told me very nicely that should the car not feel the way it was I should bring it back, it was at this point that I pointed out something they'd missed(Mirror Cover). They said they'd take it up with insure and try get a replacement cover and it won't be a big deal, this was around the 27th of August. I picked up that my car wasn't driving like it did before and felt like the traction control was working too well and shortly after, the car broke down. At this point, I'd only had my car for about 3 days give or take. So I called Discovery to tow the car but because it was after hours it went to Audi(Who has a 24-hour collection because we assumed the panel beater was not a 24-hour collection). They did their checks and then the panel beaters collected it from Audi.
I called Discovery every single week since because they were not getting back to me about updates on my car until I finally got through last week(Week of October 12). During this time(about two months, almost three) I have been paying my premium of about R5500 and my car installment for a car I did not have in my possession. But when I did finally get through after many empty promises of being called back that's when Discovery told me they would not be covering the cost of the car because the part that was broken was wear and tear. I immediately then asked them if in the initial analysis they'd checked that part of the car, they said "no". I asked if they knew based on the new report that the traction control wasn't working, they said "no", so I asked how can they prove then that it was not the accident that caused this issue, to begin with, they said it's because of the report from Audi.
I then escalated it to Aubrey's manager(Musa Dliso), who then confirmed that they only assess what they see on the car. Which to be translated as, "It could be incident related, but because we don't see it, we won't cover it" I still do not have my car at this point, they have not kept their end of the deal to cover the incident related parts of the car because even after all this, they still do not see or acknowledge my points as valid. Musa continued to lie and say that after they assess they would take it to a specialist(Audi) when it was ME who said they should take it to Audi because of a lack of options(This was the car's first stop after it broke down). The car hasn't gone anywhere else, no second opinion. And based on how Musa states how Discovery works, they would've started with their own assessor before going to Audi.
This is my first claim in the two years that I've been with them. Today's the 23rd of October 2020 and I am STILL without my car.
