Minor claim process is shocking!
Had a minor incident early morning 23/03/2022. Got a damaged tire and rim. Submitted the claim with photos and a quotation on the Discovery App. This is supposed to make the process quicker. I phoned them 2 days later to find out what the rest of the claim process is? I found out that basically nothing has been done. The app is completely useless. I had to manually email the photo's and quotation to them, cause they did not have any of the stuff (loaded on the app) on their system. I was told that Net Assist will assess the claim and quotation. The next day Net Assist did call me and they were very friendly and efficient. By the 28th I decided to have the tire and rim fixed. I was very nervous to drive around on my spare tire, and was not willing to do so any longer. As soon as it was done I submitted the invoice to Discovery on their website in order for them to refund me. I also emailed it to one of the consultants, that was going to send it to Net Assist to assess if the price is valid and fair. Another 2 days passed and yet I have not heard anything new from Discovery. I phoned Net Assist to find out what is going on? They advised that they did reply to Discovery regarding my invoice and that I should contact Discovery regarding the refund. Later that day I received an email from Discovery that my claim has been approved and that I should take my car to a panel beater. The cost of the repair was R1000 more that what I have already paid to fix the tire and rim. I could not understand firstly why Discovery is willing to pay R1000 more to have my tire fixed if I have already provided them with a quote and later an invoice. I phoned Discovery, again, on 30/03/22 to ask about my refund. After holding on for a very long time the adviser told me that the invoice was submitted and I would receive my refund within the next 2-3 working days. 31/03 the panel beaters phoned me to arrange and appointment. I advised the panel beaters that the repair was already done. Yesterday (end of the 5th working day, still waiting for my refund) I emailed Discovery to find out why I have not received my refund? Again I attached the invoice for the repair and my claim number was on the email. I received an email back, indicating that they will be paying the service provider. The screen grab showed a different claim number, vehicle and repairs for +-R40000. This was clearly not my policy or claim. The service is absolutely shocking. If you want any response from Discovery you have to phone them. Why do they have all the technology in place if it never gets used??? The app and website is useless and no one bothers to reply on an email. I'm still waiting on Discovery to contact me and hoping this review will get their attention, cause clearly nothing else has worked!
