Minimal Communication - lack of options of panel beaters

I was recently in a vehicle accident. After I submitted the cover, I received a SMS that I would be contacted within 48 hours which did not happen. I had to follow up from my side to try and find out what's going on. I took my vehicle for an assessment at one of the three contracted panel beaters. I am concerned about the quote and would prefer a second opinion. The quote I got from a panel beater close to my house quoted me much more than the assessor's quote. I am concerned that the quality of parts and workmanship will not be up to standard because of this very low quote. When I spoke to the other panel beater they indicated that they would have to source and replace the fender completely whereas it seems that the "Discovery autorised" panel beater are going to try and fix the current panel, which makes me concerned.
