Don’t say I didn’t warn you about discovery neh!

I drive a polo 2008 that I pay R1500 monthly. Didn’t mind paying that much because I wanted peace of mind. Currently, I don’t have that and here is why.

My car went in to be fixed by lanseria autobody and the picture of how the wipers look vs how they look after they touched my car will leave you with questions. My wipers are not working and I realised a day later after collecting my car. Went back to the autobody and they tried to fix it when they realised they couldn’t they claimed it is not their fault and their good friend, Discovery insure instead of investigating my complaint they said my car is old and therefore it’s a wear and tear and I should be responsible for fixing that wiper motor which will cost me R4000 + labour. How does wear and tear occur in a week?!

My car went through an assessment and the guy who checked every single little thing didn’t pick up motor not working as an “old damage” at least. Also, how does my car pass quality control with the autobody when the wipers are not working or maybe I don’t understand quality control.

Side note, it took more than 5 consultants, 3 days of phone calls to get an assessment report and the claim rejection letter... I had to send Yanga an email to finally get what I wanted.

At your earliest convenience please leave discovery and stick to OUTsurance. You will only realise discovery is not on your side when now it’s their turn to pay.
