Is my car uninsured from tomorrow?? Cannot get a confirmation e-mail out of Discovery re changes made (after two days of back and forth calls re Discovery not taking action on my e-mail sent on 3 April).

On 3 April I phoned Discovery to inform that I was changing to a new insurer, asked that they terminate my insurance on 12 April. Having found out immediately afterwards that the tracker could only be removed on 17 April, I sent an e-mail ON THE SAME DAY asking that the termination date be changed to 18 April (have Discovery's ref no for mail received).

A few days later (due to no reply) I sent ANOTHER E-MAIL quoting the first ref no (and have ref no for this e-mail). The reply simply said "We are terminating your insurance on 12 April".

The last two days were endless phone calls - Discovery's retention department trying to fob me off ("Why don't you start your insurance with the new company sooner?") (I can't as realized need more information regarding the various tracker products first.)

Yesterday morning: "If we reactivate your policy to go to 18 April, you will have to pay a reactivation fee". Yesterday afternoon: "You will not pay a reactivation fee, we will extend your cover to 18 April" - BUT NO E-MAIL CONFIRMATION. They phoned this morning "Did you receive your e-mail?", I said "No". At 14h07 today I sent an e-mail to them saying that if I do not receive e-mail confirmation by 15h15, I will take further action. Now 16h00 - no e-mail.

Friends have suggested that it is possible that they have not re-activated my policy at all and are just hoping that nothing will happen to my car ..... ??

Never in my many years of being a Discovery Insure client have I not received a confirmation e-mail immediately after an alteration to my policy has been made. Therefore does this mean this promised reactivation and insurance cover from 12 - 18 April does not actually exist?
