Is it because I am a woman or is it just a bad insurance?

After being involved in an accident, Discovery insure contacted me and they arrange for my car to be towed and to be fixed. My car was fixed but I found my car with new dents and scratches, that were not there when my car was towed. Basically these were caused after the car was assessed by your Assessor (i.e. these dents are not present on the Assessment Report ). I was then informed that I need to put in a claim but I fail to understand why I should put a claim against my name when Discovery is the one that must take accountability for my car. This claim is going to give me a worse profile than I already have. I did not choose where they were taking my car to. Who should bear the costs? Does it make sense to put a claim against my name to fix this? Is Discovery insure taking advantage of the fact that I am a woman? Black? Or are they just a bad insurance as I had been warned before?
