INSURANCE CLAIM
Shocking customer service from claims department, Janine Mitchelle in claims department does not respond to emails, does not return calls and does not reply to urgent messages left. Two weeks to try and sort out a simple claim. All reports submitted regarding tv damaged by power surge. TV was insured for R7400.00 which was the amount Qantam Risk Assessment valued it on the inventory they did on my household contents, Discovery want to pay R4000.00 LESS than insured amount. WHY SEND QANTAM RISK ASSESSMENT TO DO A VALUATION IF YOU DONT BOTHER TO CHECK THE INVENTORY AND INSURED AMOUNT.

Thank you for raising your concerns.
We note that due to technological advancements , the TV in question is no longer available in the market. For this reason our current replacement is a far better TV than what was previously insured where technology is concerned. LCD TV's have become obsolete and LED TV's offer a far better picture quality and features. Yours was a 47 inch TV and we have opted to replace it with a 49 inch TV.
Easy example, a Nokia cellphone worth R2000 ten years ago is nowhere close to a Nokia cellphone worth the same price today. Technology for a far cheaper price.
It is to be noted that we reserve all rights of indemnity.
