*********** and ********* Claims department at Discovery Insure

Received pathetic service from discovery insure. Had claimed for 2 accidents (third party fault) and received a payout to take the vehicle for repair at a panelbeater of my choice. Prior to this i enquired how this would disadvantage me and i was only informed that if i request a payout, additional damages would not be covered. I was never informed that duration of car hire would be reduced. My vehicle went in for repairs on the 16/04/2018. I called discovery claims department to arrange car hire on the 13/04/2018, the call centre operator confirmed the claim on the system and confirmed that i had 30 days car hire and if needed they could review an extension because there were 2 claims put through and it would be reviewed closer to the time. I collected the vehicle at Avis on klispruit road, Soweto, on the 16/04/2018. The Rental agreement specifically states return on the 14/05/2018. I then received an sms on 24/04/2018 stating that the rental car needs to be returned on 25/04/2018. When i called the discover insurance claims department I was informed that because i received a payout the car rental is cut short! The agent was unhelpful just saying his sorry he cant do anything and that i should call management- a lady by the name of Dineo. I called several times with no answer. I find this pathetic because not only are the call centre agents useless in giving the clients proper informed consent but also Discovery did not at any stage (and at the very least when the car hire was organised) make it clear as to the number of days they would approve it for. Also they insist that since its 2 claims i had to pay the excess twice but now when i need car hire, its cut down to one week???? I was clearly told that it is 30 days per claim!!! This is *********!! And now i cannot get hold of anyone competent enough to deal with this and obviously cannot arrange an alternative vehicle at such short notice with my vehicle still being repaired!! Absolutely pathetic!!
