Inaccurate speed violations

I submitted a dispute to Discovery Insure on 30 March 2026 regarding an incorrect speed violation. At the time of the alleged incident, I was travelling on the R300 Freeway off-ramp to the N1 Freeway. However, Discovery’s telematics system incorrectly placed my vehicle in a residential area with a 60 km/h speed limit, resulting in an unfair speed penalty. Since lodging the dispute, I have repeatedly followed up with Discovery Insure, only to receive generic responses such as: • “The matter is still under investigation.” • “We are awaiting feedback from C-Track.” • “The query has been escalated.” • “Feedback will be provided within 24 to 48 working hours.” Weeks later, no proper resolution or accountability has been provided. What is even more concerning is that this is not an isolated incident. Incorrect speed violations for roads I did not travel on have become a recurring issue. It appears that neither Discovery Insure nor its service provider, C-Track, is taking meaningful action to address the inaccuracies within their telematics and speed monitoring systems. Clients should not be penalised due to faulty location tracking and inaccurate speed readings, while being left without proper feedback or resolution.

Reviewer Update
The ongoing excuses from both you and C-Track regarding the failure to fix your inaccurate speed limit and speed monitoring system are no longer acceptable. The response is always the same: “We are still awaiting feedback from C-Track regarding the speed limit update for the area in question.”

I was penalised yet again at 06:06 AM on 22 May 2026 for exceeding the speed limit on the on-ramp to the R300 Freeway. How is it possible that your system reflects a speed limit of 20 km/h on an on-ramp leading onto a Freeway with a 120 km/h speed limit?

It is becoming increasingly clear that Discovery Insure and its service provider, C-Track, are either unwilling, unable, or simply refusing to resolve the ongoing inaccuracies within the speed monitoring system, despite repeated disputes and complaints.
