I will NEVER recommend Discovery Insure to anyone!

I am a very loyal Discovery client (medical, life insurance, bank etc) but the traumatic experience have had over the last month with Discovery Insure is beyond ridiculous. My car suffered heavy hail damage in November 2023, and after taking it to Renew It the claim was approved for R65k. I only managed to get it into their approved panel beater (Riverside Auto) on 8th May this year. I was not receiving any feedback so called the panel beater to get an update only to be told my car was no longer there!!! I signed my car over to the panel beater so was furious it had been moved without any communication or authorisation!!! After eventually getting hold of someone at Discovery was told it was at a salvage yard as it was a write off! I eventually managed to find my car at Auction Nation in Kempton park (40kms from where I live and had left my car). The front passenger seat was removed, fuel tank was empty and every possible warning light was flashing. I don't understand how my mechanically perfect car went in for hail damage and ended up broken and unrepairable! If R65k had been approved, why is it not possible to do the amount of repair that that amount covers? Apparently because the roof also needed hail repair it would be uneconomical to fix ... I couldn't care less if the roof had hail damage!! It has cost me over R20k to get it fixed after retrieving it from the salvage yard. The scariest part is I am not the only one that has experienced this exact thing with Discovery and Auction Nation. The service levels and treatment I got from discovery is DISGUSTING!
