HOUSEHOLD ITEMS NOT BEING REPLACED/REFUNDED ON CLAIM

I have been a loyal Discovery Insure client, since inception of the Discovery Insure product, I am listed as a VIP Client on system and have all my items insured with Discovery, all my premiums are succesfully paid on time, however I am having trouble finalising a claim from six weeks ago. I had the pleasure of dealing with Nokulunga(Lungi) who was handling the claim and provided excellent service, but I am still having problems with regards to having my household items replaced. I suffered a burst geyser incident and my household items were damaged, they were majority wooden and an assesor came through and measured the extent of the damage, I was then advised that my items will be refurbished, I am extremely unhappy with this, as my furniture is custom made and once the wood is tarnished, it can never be restored to its original state , anything that has been spoilt will never be the same, even a touch of water on an item, means that the item is no longer the same and can never be the same, in this case, my items stood in thousands and thousands of litres of water while I was out of the province, the damages were so bad that my home was uninhabitable and had to be dried out for a week, the floorings, cupboards and doors, walls and skirtings have now been replaced, above all, my expectations are for my items to be replaced, I have extensively read my policy documents which serves as my legal contract and nowhere in the documents does It say that the items will be refurbished or repaired. My items should be duly replaced, Section 9.5 clearly states that “ we will cover you for the replacement cost of your household contents, limited to the sum insured in your plan schedule. Therefore I do not understand why I am being refused replacement, some of the wood has already turn green and mouldy and been discarded, I took time of work and made myself available for the assesor, so that this claim can be resolved, how can it take six weeks for resolution, I have spent so much on calls and emails to no avail on resolution, I have always received world class service from Discovery as a whole and referred mutliple clients to your organisation, the feedback in return that I am receiving from my claim is totally dissapointing and unacceptable, I am providing a chance to Discovery Insure to resolve this and replace my items, which is what I pay for every month and what is in my policy documents, noting that this is my first household claim in all the years, should I not receive a favourable response, I will have to take this matter to social media and my last resort will be ombud containing further legal action, I refuse to accept non replacement of my items, please resolve this matter and convert this complaint into a compliment, so that everyone can move on with business as usual. IT is impossible for a person to wait six weeks for feedback and when the feedback is received it is still unfavourable! Discovery is classier than using a cheap option of repairing something, this is a cheap and easy way out and this is not the calibre Discovery is known for!!

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to investigate your claim concerns.
As per the feedback we have received from the claims team, the furniture items need to be worked on by the supplier as they have not confirmed yet whether the items need to be replaced.
Please allow for the supplier to carry out the work as per the assessment.
