Horible experience with first claim from discovery insure, stay away.
After logging a claim for my vehicle, it was booked in for repairs. The back bumper had to be replaced. After having the vehicle for 7 working days, initial estimate was 5 days, when receiving the vehicle after repairs on first inspection the paint still had marks due to dust on the wet paint, bad paint job. Additionally when removing panels to do the repairs they did not fit the hooks on the back of the for ranger correctly when reassembling the vehicle.
It did not seem like the panel beaters did any quality review. As right off the bat i could see defects with the repair.
It was arranged that they would need to take the vehicle for a couple of hours on a different day to rectify the faults found with the initial repair..
The following Monday they came to collect the vehicle, they had the vehicle for the whole day only to return the vehicle with the same issues as before and as well the hooks on the back of the bakkie was still not fitted correctly, marks on the paint job. I was unhappy and requested that they fix the marks on the paint job. They arranged for the next day to fix the paint job correctly.
The next day the marks pointed out the day before were fixed. But there was still dust marks left. I was still unhappy with the results but this was becoming a hassle for me as the process was too long and frustrating. The vehicle going back and forth, making arrangements it was just wasting my time and money.
I was not happy with the results and was instructed to go to ford to get a report on the paint job as i was concerned that if i were to trade in my vehicle i would be penalized for the paint defects. Ford service manager confirmed that i would indeed be penalized in the current state.
I informed discovery that this would be the third attempt to do the job properly and i am getting very frustrated as the communication was lacking from discovery to keep me updated on the process and is wasting my time as it does not seem like they are using qualified panel beaters to do repairs and it becomes a big hassle for the client.
After that the panel beaters reached out again to make arrangements to try and make the correction on the paint job. They did not make the appointment and also to the time of writing this no communication received from the panel beater.
The claim was done on on the 3/4th of September, we are now on the 21 of October and the repair has not been done correctly.
This was my first claim after moving to discovery insure, at this point i am ready to move to another insurer due to poor quality workmanship form their accredited panel beaters and bad communication.

I am furious on how my claim is handled, and still a lack of communication that results in me the client that is paying for a service to sit without a car due to bad communication from discovery and their partners.
Once again it was my responsibility to make sure the process is moving along. Only when i phone to follow up then only the process moves along.
