Hopeless situation, worst service ever
I don't know what to do anymore. I am for sure changing all my policys I have with Discovery tomorrow. So here is my story. The 8th of January 2022 I had a house break-in and they stole my car keys and later my car. The tracker was in the car so it was found within a couple of hours. Well done to the Discovery tracker and the guys from Discovery who found the car. But its here the nightmare starts. The week after I go with the Sergeant to the pound to ID the car. Now it was the assessors time to assess the car. Since there was no key, the spare didn't work, it took a while for some reason to get it to the assessors. The 4th of Feb Dominic Madlala at Discovery Insure informs me that the claim has gone through and that the panel beaters are now going to start with the work on the car. After that radio silence. The 25th of Feb I get a hold of the panel beater after endless calls to Discovery with no one coming back to me, and I get informed that they, panel beater, did not get the go ahead until the 23d of Feb. And now they have to wait for spare parts that will arrive the 15th March. Again I try to reach Dominic at Discovery who after days gets back to me and informs me that yes a mistake did happen on their part and the go ahead was not sent until the 23d March. I insist they prolong the vehicle hire that they cover for 30 days and they did until the 19th of April. The spare parts arrived the 15th March and I was told my car would be most certainly done by the 25th March if not before. I call the workshop the 24th March and I am told that they have not been able to hardly do anything with my car since it's not moveable due to the car key not being programmed for the lock to work. I then ask what is the problem here. And get answered well we need a flatbed to move the car to the dealership to program the key. This is now me in person pursuing the work shop after receiving mails from Dominic saying all is in order. Tomorrow I am going myself to the workshop/panel beater to see what is actually going on. From the 19th I pay for my own rental and its not cheap. I have dealt with Kayly, Colin, Sandile, Dominic, Lucy and a couple of more people that I forgot to take the name of. Not one person did get back to me all though all of them promised to get back to me telephonically. I have no idea what to do anymore. I did not choose this panel beater and they most prob make sure their private clients gets serviced first and charge Discovery storing fee for my car. But it should not be up to me to sit and chase both Discovery Insure and the panel beater for information. I will update here tomorrow on the outcome after I have been to see my car. I am so upset it even interrupts my sleep. And I should def not have to pay my own car rental.
