Discovery Insure has increased my wifes insurance by an absurd percentage, when contacting them to request a reduction they have told us that they will not give a reduction due to the accident she had 18 months ago when a taxi drove into her. Last year my wife recieved an increase of 15% which is understandable because she made a claim but this year she has recieved an increase of 17% which is ridiculous and they say it's because of her risk profile, I don't understand how her risk profile has changed considering she hasn't claimed for 18 months.

Discovery aren't even bothered to try and give her a discount, not a single percent. She has spoken to the call centre, the pricing dept. and even the retention dept. and none of them are willing to budge at all.

You would think that the retention dept. would try and keep my wife as a customer by trying to get her some type of a discount but the overall attitude is deal with it or go some where else.

Clearly Discovery isn't bothered in retaining clients anymore.

Thank you for your comment.
We regret that the increase has been met with dissatisfaction, however we wish to note that the when the cost of carrying risk increases we are equally compelled to also increase premium. This in turn will ensure that in case of loss or damage, we are in a position to put all policyholders in the same position prior to the loss or damage.
We apologise for the frustration experienced.
