Getting the Middle Finger From Discovery
I am extremely frustrated with Discovery insurance. On the evening of Tuesday, 22 October, I had an accident. Discovery picked up my car and delivered it to a service provider in Burgersfort.
I called back on Thursday, 24 October, and was informed that no information could be shared about the claim due to Discovery not being able to get hold of the service provider. When I asked for this to be resolved, a manager became frustrated with me, stating that it was the process. He assured me that he would sort it out if I could hold for 30 minutes. However, he later said he still couldn't get hold of the service provider and would ask the team to investigate since they did not meet Discovery’s standards.
I Googled the company that received my car and discovered it was a small place with hardly any signage. They assured me they would pick up the car on Friday, 25 October, but this did not happen. The following week, no progress was made either.
On 31 October, during an audit with a representative who had made arrangements to meet on 25 November, he informed me that my car was still at the same service provider in Burgersfort despite multiple promises to pick it up. He also mentioned that the main reason for the delay was that Discovery had not paid the service provider.
As of today, Tuesday, 5 November, I am still without my car. For two weeks, I have been kept in the dark about its status, with the service provider not meeting Discovery’s standards and keeping my vehicle as collateral. The safety of the car has been compromised, and I cannot and will not use it for my family’s safety.
I have called Discovery about nine times, and each time I am either cut off or promised a call back or an email before the close of business, which never happens. No management has provided clear steps to escalate this issue. After all, I am on the Purple Plan.

From Me
Please correct your wording (not just a negative impact on me, what about my Wife and two daughters)
I am not reassured given that my vehicle is with a noncompliant service provider.
I will never have peace of mind driving my family in a car that was beyond my control and essentially held hostage.
The lack of transparency and control leaves me with serious concerns about what security measures, if any, were in place at night and what might have happened to the car while it was under their custody.
Will you trust your family in a car driving 120 km/h and something goes wrong with a car that was jeopardized?
What was replaced or taken out of my car?
I need 100% assurance that my car was not tampered with by your noncompliant service provider.
Then let us have a look in to your promise
