Frustration

In December 2024, our geyser burst and caused damage to our ceiling in our bathroom and 3rd bedroom. Discovery sent out a company called Everstream Trading. What a complete disaster from the time they entered our home until they finally left. They had absolutely ZERO idea what they were doing. When they removed the damaged ceiling in our bathroom, they destroyed our medicine cabinet on the wall. We reported this to Discovery, as Sihle from Everstream didn't want to replace the cabinet. He was eventually forced to replace the cabinet that his team broke, by Discovery Insure. After they finally completed replacing the ceiling boards and painting the walls, our house was a complete mess, and it took Everstream again to be threatened by Discovery Insure to come back and clean up after themselves. 6 months later, the paint in the bathroom started lifting and bubbling. We called Everstream and received no response. We then called Discovery Insure and spoke to Lungi, who, in turn, emailed Everstream on 17 June, instructing them to get hold of us. By 23 June, we still had not been contacted by Everstream and emailed Lungi. Within 15 minutes, Everstream's admin office contacted us via email saying that they were going to send a team to come have a look at the paint that was lifting. By 30 June, after the team had looked and taken photos, we once again had to email Discovery and cc in Everstream as we had not heard a word from them in over a week. By 17 July, we still had no feedback from Everstream, so we emailed Discovery Insure yet again. Within 20 minutes, we had a response from Everstream via email, stating that by the end of business on 17 July, they would revert to us. By 22 July, we still had not heard anything, so once again emailed Discovery Insure. 23 July, we emailed Discovery Insure again, and within 30 minutes we had an email response from Everstream stating that Xolani, was the internal assessor at Discovery, and is attending to our complaint. Since then, nothing again. We then emailed Everstream AGAIN on 29 July, giving them until 1 August 17:00 to have our bathroom stripped of the old paint and repainted. Needless to say, we have not heard a word from them. The last communication from Everstream was on 23 July. This is unacceptable, and now Discovery Insure needs to step in and get this sorted out. In the interim, we are no longer clients of Discovery Insure, but this all happened while we were.
