Frustrating Customer Service and Unresolved Vehicle Claim

Dear Discovery Insurance Team,

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the handling of my recent vehicle glass claim, specifically the replacement of my right rear window. The level of service I have experienced has been extremely disappointing and has significantly impacted both my daily life and personal plans.

Following the incident, I was initially referred to your approved supplier, Glasfit, who installed a temporary plastic covering on the damaged window and advised that the replacement would take approximately 3–4 business days. However, I was later informed that the actual lead time would be closer to 21 days.

Concerned about the safety and security of my vehicle, given that it remains exposed and vulnerable, I contacted Discovery Insurance to escalate the matter. I was then referred to an alternative supplier, PG Glass, with the assurance that they could complete the replacement within 3–4 business days. Unfortunately, after further delays, PG Glass advised that they are unable to confirm when the required window will be available.

In addition to the delays, I am deeply dissatisfied with the level of customer service I have received. I have interacted with at least six different representatives, many of whom placed me on hold for extended periods (often exceeding 15 minutes) without providing any resolution. Despite requesting callbacks instead of being placed on hold, I was only contacted once. This lack of follow-through is unacceptable.

Furthermore, PG Glass has marked my request as “completed” after installing a temporary plastic covering. This is not an acceptable resolution, as I require a proper glass replacement, not a temporary fix. This has created confusion and further delayed the resolution of my claim.

Due to the ongoing uncer*****y and lack of progress, I have had to cancel a planned holiday at the end of the month in order to manage this situation. Despite waiting approximately 14 days already, I am now being faced with an additional 21-day waiting period, effectively restarting the process due to miscommunication and poor coordination.

Most concerning is that the latest supplier appointed by Discovery Insurance advised me that the replacement glass would only be available by the end of the month. It is now the end of the month, and I have still not received the replacement glass. I have now been informed that I must wait an additional two weeks on top of the delays already experienced. This ongoing postponement, combined with the lack of clear communication and accountability, is completely unacceptable.

I would also like to highlight that there appears to be a disconnect between Discovery Insurance and its suppliers. The customer service team seems to lack clarity on supplier capabilities, turnaround times, and service expectations. As a policyholder, I expect a more informed and coordinated approach.

While I understand that sourcing parts for specific vehicles, such as a Renault Clio, may take longer, this should have been communicated clearly from the outset. I would have been willing to accept a 21-day waiting period if it had been communicated honestly and consistently from the beginning.

At this point, I have lost confidence in Discovery Insurance’s ability to manage this claim effectively. I expect the following:

* A clear and accurate update on the status of my window replacement * Confirmation of a realistic timeline for completion * Proper coordination with a supplier who can deliver on the agreed service * An explanation of why my claim was incorrectly marked as completed * Consideration of compensation or remedial action given the inconvenience and disruption caused

I joined Discovery Insurance with the expectation of receiving reliable and efficient service from a company of your standing. Unfortunately, this experience has not met those expectations.

I trust that this matter will now be handled with the urgency and professionalism it requires. I look forward to your prompt response.

Kind regards,
