False information and advertising
The extract below was part of an email that was sent to me by Discovery on the 27 December 2017. I followed the instructions and to date have not received any discount on my Uber app. "Activate your DriveMe benefit with Uber at no cost today 1.Download the Uber app for your iPhone, Android, Windows Phone or BlackBerry 7 smartphone. 2.Activate your Uber account in the app by following its instructions. If you have a Discovery Card, you can add it as your payment option to get up to 40% discount on your tripsNow SMS “UBER” and your ID or passport number to 31347 from the cellphone number you have registered on your Uber app. This will register your Uber benefit with Discovery Insure and we’ll send you a confirmation SMS. 3. You can check if your discount has been app**** by visiting www.uber.com. Your Uber statement also reflects your Discovery Insure discount. By activating your DriveMe benefit, you’ll get up to 25% discount on safe, personal driver services at any time of the day."
They then send me another email on the 20 November 2017 with this extract. "Exciting updates to your Discovery Insure Plan Every year, Discovery Insure aims to bring you new and exciting benefits to improve your Discovery Insure Plan and make sure that we meet your needs. This year is no different as we bring you enhanced Vitality Drive rewards and benefits, legal support and more. Here is a brief summary of what you can expect from 3 December 2018. Improved Uber benefits for Essential Plan clients Now all clients with an Essential Plan can benefit from Uber discounts. Get 10% off Uber trips all hours of the day. This benefit will replace existing Uber discounts on the Essential Plan. The benefit is limited to a R1000 Uber spend every month. Click here to learn how to activate this benefit. " I called in the centre and then they said its only applicable from January 2019. I told them the email says December 3. They then confirmed it will be from this month. I sent the SMS and I am still waiting for my discount on my Uber app.
Does anyone know what is happening there. When will I be getting my discount if there really is a discount on the uber app?
