Extremely Dissatisfied with Discovery Car Insurance Roadside Assistance Service

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the roadside assistance service provided by Discovery Insure. Today, I encountered a distressing situation when I hit a huge pot hole and my tyre burst. I am alone travelling from to Mahikeng to JHB. Immediately, I contacted Discovery for assistance, hoping for prompt help in my time of need - this was at 14:37.

At 16:13, I am still stranded on the roadside, waiting for assistance that has yet to arrive (I’m being told 20 minutes more). The prolonged wait time has not only caused inconvenience but also significant frustration and anxiety. My car battery actually died while waiting because my hazards were on for so long. This unacceptable delay has left me feeling utterly let down by the service I expected from Discovery.

At one point I even requested a quote to get my car towed back to my house - which was 96kms away and they wanted to charge me R15 per km.

As a customer who relies on Discovery for peace of mind on the road, this experience has severely shaken my confidence in the company's ability to provide timely and reliable assistance. I expected better from a reputable insurance provider like Discovery.

I urge Discovery to address this issue promptly and implement measures to ensure that such delays do not occur in the future. Customers deserve timely and efficient assistance, especially in situations like mine.
