My car was damaged while being repaired by Denttech panel beaters in Strijdompark. A secondary item was opened and I refused to return the car to Denttech. Discovery agreed and I decided to have this done by Renew-It. Renew-It in turn damaged the rightfront wheel area, while the car was in their care. They agreed to replace the entire front plastic bumper, and I accepted the car since I was about to leave on holiday over the festive season in Herm****. Around 500 km from Jhb, the power steering developed a total lack of power, and I discovered that the transmission fluid had all leaked out. I completed the rest of the journey with 5ltr cans of transmission fluid tank in the boot, refilling the power steering fluid every 200km. Took the car for a quote to Herm**** Toyota and they recommended the entire power steering rack to be replaced. I reported this to Discovery Insure as the fourth item under the original claim. The case was handled by Ganyane Metsing (Discovery Insure Executive Office), She kept me up to date on a daily basis, and after four days reported that they were not 100% covinced that the damage was claimable under the original claim but would allow me the benefit of the doubt. I had to sign a full and final settlement agreement, and three days later the total bill from Toyota was fully refunded to me. I particularly appreciated the feedback, and specifically when no progress was made after 24 hours so that I could immediately take further action.
