Emergency 911 Line (Assisted by Steven Raphalala)
My experience with Discovery Insure (911) emergency department was horrible. I got through to the Department after experiencing a Smash and Grab incident around 21:15 on 29 Dec 2018. The call was around 21:40 with “Steven Raphalala”. Firstly, it’s sounded like a party in the background and people were laughing. If I’m not mistaken, I had to probe the greeting as it sounded like the person on the other end was more focused on what was happening in the office. For a trauma and emergency line, I felt like **** to be received in such a manner. I was highly disappointed.
I explained the story to this Steven oke and he said okay. I had to probe what happens after as I was being driven to the police station. He answered the questions one by one and was not proactive at all. I had to probe more and more to understand what was required by my insurance and what needed to happened after the police station report.
For me, in my trauma state, even now when I look back, the service was appalling, for lack of a better word. I remained calm as I had other matters to deal with. I was promised a Trauma Counselor who only called after 5 days!!!!
Overall experience was trash. Way appalling for an emergency line!
