Dissatisfaction on process followed by Discovery Insure in respect of Hijacking Claim

On the 26 July 2022 i was hijacked. my car was insured with discovery. I was not happy with the whole process. my car had a tracker; however, they couldn't detect or track the speed/recklessness the car was driven at. they did not even try to contact me or my husband since they have all our numbers. secondly, they could only track the car when it was time to pay and fortunately for them, they recovered the car. I did not want the car back because of the trauma experienced and that it would reverse healing process. However, its documented on the policy and I had to accept it. the car was found on 4 August 2022, it has been 9 weeks now without a car. i keep on receiving message to say that they are still waiting for spares. i decided to go to the appointed panel beater and advised me that I might get my car back in December and that if they receive spares two weeks back. This in essence means that, I am going to pay 5 months for the car that I do not have, in addition to that my husband is going to pay for 5 insurance statements for the car that we do not have. I am so disappointed at Discovery, I thought they are the best insurance, this inconvenience is so unfair. Every time one pays for an insurance, it is because we want peace of mind should any incident happen, however not with Discovery. I feel so unfairly treated. so many people i talk to that have relatives or friends who were once hijacked tells that their insurances paid before even the car was recovered. it took Discovery 2 week to process and finalize my claim, for me that was a deliberate act of not willing to pay. however, to frustrate clients with trauma and inconvenience.

Thank you

Thank you for your response, however your response is not satisfactory for the following reasons:
1. you are making your problem my problem
2. you are not even offering me a courtesy car to attend to the inconvenience caused.
3. I am paying for the car that I do not have and that I do not know as to when I am going to have it back. I am currently taking taxes to and from work, the question remains, why I am paying for insurance for the period that I do not have my car? what am I paying for?
4. you are unable to tell me as to when I am going to get my car back and for it tells me that you do not have a standard time as long as it is money in your pockets.

It must be noted that this case will be taken to the ombudsman should this case is not resolved.
