Dishonest Discovery Assessors and Service Providers

Since Discovery Insure has not responded to a concern I have raised with them. I thought that this review would bring it to their attention and maybe something the reader of this review should take note of It's more about the Discovery Assessors whose services they are using to repair the damages clients are submitting for claims then Discovery themselves

I submitted a claim to Discovery for damage fire damage to my kitchen. An assessor was sent completed and submitted the details of the damage to Discovery. The claim was processed and approval given for the repair.

What happens next is jaw dropping. The assessor completed the assessment and was allocated the claim to repair. Well his employees went shopping in my kitchen for everything not damaged by the fire. Once the cupboards were removed I discovered below standard work which I called them back to fix up. Well the kitchen cupboards which were removed were placed on my front stoep and I decided to get rid of them only to be berated by the " assessor/repairman" that I was not allowed to get rid of the cupboards since they belonged to him. Well I called discovery and according to their records this assessor had reported to them that what was removed had no salvage value. So be warned about their assessors. Insist that there are more than one assessors coming out to review any claims for damages. Insist on receiving a copy of the invoice submitted on your claim. Ask for reviews of the assessor.

The assessor who came out won the claim and fixed the damage proved that they are dealing with dishonest serviceman. What I am left with is after a risk assessment and obviously linked to my claim is an increased premium and an experience with a Discovery assessor and service provider who is nothing but a ******.
