Discovey Insure - Pathetic Service

I just had to share my experience with Discovey Insure this week. After 4 years of paying my premiums diligently and on time, I had a leaking geyser. I lodged my claim wih my Discovery broker and it was authorised. The Drain Surgeon Hatfiled then contacted me to do an assessment. This took place and the work was scheduled for the two days later. After the work was completed, I noticed that the geyser was not heating. I then contacted Drain Surgeon and was told that the plumber that had completed the work was not on duty and a standby person will come out to have a look. At 19h40, I was told that the standby plumber had two clients before me and then would attend to my call. I thought that this was too late and asked if we could attend to this in the morning. I noticed in the morning that there was still a leak, from the dripping noise onto my ceiling. I then notified the Drain Surgeon that there was still a leak. They confirmed that they would send out the plumber who had completed the job the day before and he would be there around 08h00. I then received a message that that specific plumber had not come in and another plumber would be sent out. The new plumber arrived around 08h25 and had a look at the geyser. He then confirmed that the previous pluber had forgotten to switch something back on and that is why the geyser was not heating. He then found then leak on the geyser and confirmed that he would be back later to fix it after Discovery gave them the go ahead. This is now where the incident takes a nasty turn.

I was then told by Drain Surgeon that the work was not approved by Discovery Insure and a new claim had to be lodged. What??? Apparently it was a new leak!! Yes, just two 3 days after the assessor had been there a new leak suddenly appeared. No chance that the assessor overlooked this, it was a brand new leak. Wow!! I had already paid R1750 excess to the Drain Surgeon before the work was done and now I had to lodge a new claim and pay and excess of R1750 again. Daylight ******* if you ask me!! Now I am sitting with a half done job and still a leaking geyser.
