Discovery very bad car insurance company
I bought a Audi Q5 in Desember with a Excellent health Report from Dekra stating" very good" no faults or damages 24 January 2024 my wife made an accident. Contacted Discovery and they came out with an investigator an investigated if we were in an accident! This is where I started to get annoyed and had to prove the cars condition, luckily I had the Dekra Report. I then proceeded to show them the car in its current state with some body and engine damage. The car is now in an un driveable state as warnings lights and sirens come on as soon as you start. WARNING : SWITCH OF IMMEDIATELY. They towed my car away. Two weeks later my wife decided to call Discovery to find out when the car will be ready, they did not even know where my car was? We had to phone every one and the towing company to get hold of our car that was taken to a auction yard.! It is now 13 March almost 3 months later. They tell me now my car is ready for collection I must come tow my car.! My rental is canceled They are not going to fix my engine, it's Wear and Tear. They will also not tow the car back to my house.
This is not what I expected from discovery This is not insurance I have to go now and find a tow for my Q5 I'm stranded Worse off and have to pay R5000 access to Tow my car away

We have studied the merits of the claim, regrettably our decision to reject stands.
Our plan guide on section 7.11 provides that:
7.11 What is not covered?
• For wear and tear, mechanical, electronic, or electrical breakdowns, failures or breakages If your vehicle is in an unroadworthy condition.
Taking the above into consideration, our decision to reject the claim remains unchanged in line with the policy terms and conditions.

The assessor did not inform me that this will not be fixed
The assessor even took photos of engine warnings
I would not even continued with the claim if that was the case

It is evident that previous work was carried out to this vehicle. Some parts mentioned in this report were replaced for whatever reason it might be.
There is a visible oil leak on the bottom of the engine that has been there for a while now the dust and dirt is packed up around the engine oil sump and stabiliser arm.
The front suspension bushes are all worn except the two top control arm bushes that was replaced. This is worn out because of wear.
When the DEKRA report was conducted they did not remove the lower engine cover because if this was done, they would have seen the old oil leak on the engine. The engine oil light that came on can be one of the following issues:
1. Low oil levels.
2. Oil sensor.
3. Oil pump.
4. Oil pressure.
This is not because of the impact but wear and tear.
